And the responses have taken on a life of their own.

Liz Cole, chief social officer at agency VML, which handles social media for Audible, says the comments offer something traditional content often cannot: speed and low stakes.

“It allows us to test things in a very quick and lightweight way that doesn't require a whole big production every single time,” she said.

Audible’s approach is to occasionally drop the corporate mask — just enough to feel human. “There’s just enough personality to be able to imagine that there is a real person there understanding these titles, engaging with the lore, and taking part in the community,” Cole added.

Pour ma voiture, je change d’assurance assez régulièrement. C’est la seule solution ne pas trop subir les augmentations successives, la fidélité d’une année sur l’autre étant rarement récompensée.

Pour 2025-2026, j’avais choisi l’assurance Léocare. Eh bien… quelle erreur.

Je vais être bref et décrire pourquoi c’est de très loin la pire expérience en matière d’assurance auto que j’ai jamais eu, du début à la fin.

Ils oublient de m’inscrire au FVA

Une quinzaine de jours après la souscription, je me fais repérer par les gendarmes qui me font signe de sortir de l’autoroute. Je m’exécute (car je ne suis pas un petit merdeux qui refuse d’obtempérer).

L’agente me signale que mon véhicule apparaît en rouge sur leur système embarqué de lecture automatisé des plaques d’immatriculation (LAPI), leur signifiant que mon véhicule n’est pas dans le fichier des véhicules assurés (FVA).

Je leur dis que je suis pourtant bien assuré et je montre mon mémo assuré que j’avais imprimé. Je leur précise que j’ai changé d’assureur il n’y a pas très longtemps.
L’agente comprend alors la situation : le nouvel assureur n’a pas fait son boulot. Elle me dit d’engueuler (sic) mon assureur car normalement c’est fait en 2-3 jours. On me laisse repartir.

J’ai contacté Léocare le soir même et ils font le nécessaire dès le lendemain après. Je n’ai plus eu ce problème depuis. Je suppose donc qu’ils avaient « juste oublié » de faire leur boulot.

Remarques :

• Ils ont un seul job et ne le font pas. S’excuser n’ayant jamais réparé un dégât, une remise de 5 % (environ 15 jours sur une année) aurait été normal. Je rappelle que si moi j’avais « oublié » de faire le nécessaire en matière d’assurance, je risque 3 750 € d’amende, immobilisation et confiscation du véhicule, 5 ans d’interdiction de conduire, obligation d’un stage de sensibilisation… la liste peut être longue ;
• Je suis quelqu’un de prévoyant : j’avais imprimé mon mémo assuré bien que ça ne soit pas obligatoire. J’avais bien fait, car sur le coup c’est la seule preuve de mon assurance. Je conseille donc de le faire. Faites-le.
• Léocare a réagi très vite ici : signalé vers 18 h, problème réglé à 9 h le lendemain (soit 1 à 2 heures ouvrées). Je le note, car c’est important pour la suite.

Leur assistance est nulle

En septembre 2025, la batterie 12 V de ma voiture arrive en fin de vie. Ce sont des choses qui arrivent et je détaille tout ça dans cet article. J’appelle donc l’assistance 24 h/24, et il est 06 h 30 du matin.

À 07 h, toujours rien.

J’appelle moi-même un dépanneur qui arrive en 20 minutes, démarre ma voiture et me permet de repartir dès 7 h 30 environ. Ce simple démarrage et déplacement me coûtera 170 € tout de même.

À 12 h 30, je reçois un SMS de confirmation de prise en compte de ma demande par Léocare. Sept heures pour répondre à une urgence ? C’est une blague ?
De plus, après ce SMS, je n’ai plus rien entendu de leur part : aucun dépanneur n’est jamais venu, aucun message, aucun appel. Bref, leur assistance n’a servi strictement à rien.

Quand je leur ai envoyé la facture du dépannage, on m’a envoyé balader : le fameux « spanous® ». Là aussi, l’on m’a répondu promptement.

Remarques :

• Ma batterie 12 V sera changée par mes soins peu après. C’est pas plus compliqué que de changer une pile dans un réveil, si ce n’est que les contacteurs sont tenus par des écrous.
• J’ai acheté un booster. Je transporte un garage dans mon sous-coffre parce que les assistances sont des incapables. Un booster, même un truc à 30 €, peut vous éviter d’avoir à payer un dépanneur.

Que des bots/IA, zéro humains

Il m’est arrivé, au printemps 2026, de les contacter pour des demandes spécifiques. Notamment une demande d’assurer un trajet professionnel avec ma voiture perso (vu que mon contrat normal ne couvre pas cela). Leur réponse ? Nope. Pareil pour d’autres questions : Nope.

Nope. Toujours Nope. Que dalle. Ils ne savent rien, ne font rien, ne veulent rien savoir, et rien n’est possible.

La forme des réponses données par le tchat de Léocare me fait penser que c’est une IA qui répond ; pas un humain qui comprend la situation et fait son travail en m’expliquant les raisons de ces refus catégoriques. À défaut, j’aurais accepté une solution alternative, une piste à étudier : le conseil c’est aussi leur travail, non, aux « conseillers » ?

Les assurances temporaires, les dérogations, les avenants, les transferts d’assurance… ce sont des pratiques qui se font dans le milieu. À la place, ils refusent, sans me dire pourquoi. Ce sont leurs méthodes.

Qu’on refuse, c’est une chose que je peux accepter (tout en restant une raison valable pour moi de me barrer de chez eux), mais l’opacité, elle, ne l’est pas. J’estime qu’ils auraient pu dire s’ils ont pour politique de ne jamais faire de dérogation, ou si c’est juste moi le problème.
Bien-sûr, les agents virtuels à la con ne savent pas faire ça, et c’est ça qui ne fait croire qu’il n’y a plus que des bots chez eux.

Remarque :

• Après en avoir discuté avec une compagnie d’assurance physique, il apparaît que les assurances en ligne sont très fermées à tout aménagement ponctuel du contrat.
• À nouveau, Léocare m’avait répondu dans un délai très court.

Difficile d’obtenir le relevé d’information

À la fin de l’année de souscription, juste avant de changer d’assureur, il me faut donc mon relevé d’information.
Bah devinez quoi ? Léocare refuse de le mettre en ligne. C’est une pratique courante : ils donnent tous les documents en PDF (conditions générales, devis, conditions particulières…), sauf le relevé.

Généralement les gens veulent ce document pour changer d’assurance. Ils ne lâchent donc pas le PDF sans s’agiter pour essayer de vous retenir.
Pour avoir le relevé d’information, il faut leur demander via le tchat. Chose que j’ai donc faite.

J’ai insisté au-dessus sur leur réactivité. Ici, curieusement (ou pas), ils mettront deux jours ouvrés pour me le donner. Et encore : je n’ai eu le PDF qu’après leur avoir envoyé un e-mail de réclamation leur sommant de m’envoyer le fichu papier (le tchat m’a répondu 5 minutes après avoir envoyé l’e-mail ; mais c’est sûrement une coïncidence). Les menaces, y a que ça qui marche, c’est fatiguant. Fatiguant et honteux de leur part.

Il faut savoir que chaque jour où ça traîne, ça fait traîner des trucs en cascade derrière pour le client.
On parle de procédures où les dates font foi et où chaque jour est important et décompté.

Ils savent très bien ce qu’ils font : chaque jour de retard pour moi est un jour de gagné pour eux.

Ils font la sourde oreille aux LRAR

Comme si ça ne suffisait pas, lorsque j’ai mandaté un nouvel assureur pour prendre le relais après les 1 an chez Léocare, le nouvel assureur a envoyé un recommandé (électronique) pour informer Léocare que mon contrat sera résilié à l’échéance. Je reçois l’accusé de réception le lendemain. Donc Léocare est réputé informé (le principe de la LRAR).

Une semaine après, Léocare m’envoie un nouvel échéancier de paiement pour l’année à venir, ainsi qu’un appel à cotisation pour 2026-2027. Pardon ?

Après avoir pu tant bien que mal leur arracher une réponse sur leur tchat (après 2 jours à nouveau…), ils me disent qu’ils n’ont « malheureusement pas eu connaissance de [ma] demande de résiliation ».

Quel bordel.

Après une énième discussion (ils ne répondent pas, donc le ticket est fermé — top stratégie client, dites-moi !), ils me disent que je dois attendre la fin de la période d’engagement pour envoyer ma demande.

Ceci est évidemment FAUX. La loi Chatel dispose que la demande de résiliation peut intervenir jusqu’à 2 mois avant, du moment que la date de fin du contrat reste bien la fin de la période d’engagement d’un an (voir là, là, là).
Dans mon cas, la date de fin d’engagement est le 19 juin. Mon nouvel assureur a envoyé le courrier début mai. On est parfaitement dans les délais. Je resterai assuré chez Léocare jusqu’au 19 juin, et dès le 19 juin c’est mon nouvel assureur qui prend le relais.

ÉDIT : j’apprendrais plus tard, après avoir saisi la répression des fraudes (via Signal Conso), que le courrier mentionnait Loi Hamon, pas Loi Chatel, d’où ce refus (le premier est à appliquer après l’échéance, le second avant, pour prise d’effet à l’échéance).
Fait « amusant » : quand il s’agissait de souscrire chez Léocare en 2025, ils avaient très bien envoyé la lettre à mon assureur précédent avant la date d’échéance, en mentionnant « Loi Hamon ».

Pour ça je maintiens : ils savent exactement ce qu’ils font pour faire traîner les procédures et gagner du temps en pinaillant volontairement sur des détails qu’ils savent très bien ignorer quand ça les arrange. C’est comme la souscription : elle se fait en 2 clics, mais pour résilier, c’est la croix et la bannière : LRAR, délais, refus…

Quoi qu’il en soit, mon nouvel assureur leur envoi une nouvelle e-LRAR mentionnant « Loi Chatel ».

(Ajoutons que ce n’est pas ce nouveau courrier qui m’a fait obtenir la résiliation, mais le fait d’être passé par SignalConso (la DGCCRF), où je dénonce ces pratiques ridicules, et où quelqu’un — pas un bot, visiblement — prend note de façon intelligente de ma volonté de résilier et la met en place : bref, il faut passer par le gendarme de la répression des fraudes pour que nos démarches soient prises au sérieux. À nouveau, ce n’est pas normal.)

Ils ne respectent pas les délais d’envoi des lettres d’information

Désormais, en France, pour tous les contrats à reconduction tacite, l’assureur doit envoyer au moins 2 mois avant un courrier ou un e-mail décrivant notre droit de résilier. Aucun format n’est imposé : cette indication peut être inscrite dans l’appel des cotisations pour l’année à venir, par exemple. Lisez donc bien tout, car ça sera forcément caché. On a alors 20 jours pour y répondre, par exemple en envoyant une LRAR pour résilier à l’échéance.

Là où Léocare sont « malins », c’est que pour une date d’échéance au 19 juin, ils m’ont adressé un document en PDF par e-mail daté du 16 avril. J’ai donc jusqu’au 6 mai pour répondre. Ce « 16 avril » est la date écrite sur le PDF. Le PDF en question, je l’ai reçu… le 15 mai ! Autrement dit, bien après l’expiration des 20 jours.

Vous voyez le truc ?

Par un heureux hasard — vraiment un hasard — j’avais souscrit chez mon nouvel assureur le 6 mai, et ces derniers avaient envoyé la LRAR le 6 mai également. J’étais donc dans les délais. Mais vous trouvez normal que mes droits dépendent du hasard ? Le 6 mai, je n’avais pas encore reçu leur PDF du 16 avril, je rappel.

ÉDIT : toujours après leur réponse suite au signalement via la répression des fraudes, j’apprends que la date en bas du courrier est une date « technique », celle de l’édition du courrier, mais que le délai court à la réception du courrier. Soit.

Sachant que ceci est envoyé par e-mail, j’aimerais bien savoir comment ils font pour savoir si oui ou non je suis dans les délais, sachant qu’ils ne savent pas quand je vais recevoir mon e-mail !

Dans le cas d’un litige, si je gère une demande avec ce courriel, déjà cela prouvera que je l’ai lu, et donc effectivement reçu, mais aussi la seule date dont je peux attester, c’est celle du courrier, le 16 avril. Je n’ai aucune preuve de l’avoir reçue seulement un mois après. Leur explication « le délai cours à partir de la date où vous recevez l’e-mail » est donc du flan : ils savent que je ne pourrais rien prouver du tout.

Oui, je peux fournir les entêtes de l’e-mail reçu — et je l’ai fait via Signal Conso — mais ce n’est pas une preuve, sauf peut-être une preuve de ma bonne foi. Leur défense pourrait très bien dire que j’ai altéré les en-têtes, d’autant que je ne suis pas chez GMail ou Outlook qui pourraient servir des tiers de confiance, mais sur un serveur où je peux à peu près tout modifier. Donc nope : pour moi, la seule date à retenir, c’est celle du courrier, c’est uniquement celle-là qui est prouvable.

Remarques :

• je suis sérieux : la seule chose qui compte, c’est ce qui est écrit dans un contrat. Tout le reste — TOUT LE RESTE — n’existe pas. La date en bas du courrier, elle est écrite. La date de réception du mail, elle ne l’est pas, et ne fait pas partie du contrat. Gardez toujours ça en tête, avec toutes vos démarches.
• de façon étonnante (et révoltante), la loi Chatel prévoit le cas où les assureurs n’envoient pas le courrier à temps, en m’octroyant un délai supplémentaire. En d’autres termes : il parait normal qu’un assureur choisisse de ne pas respecter les délais légaux, sans même qu’ils risquent quoi que ce soit. Donc on oblige, mais le manquement n’est pas puni et est même prévu ! Une loi que l’on peut enfreindre sans conséquences, pour moi, c’est une loi inutile.

En résumé sur Léocare

Chez Léocare, on te prend le pognon de ton assurance auto pour l’année, mais :

• on ne t’inscrit pas dans le FVA ;
• on ignore les demandes de prestations ;
• le seul contact se fait par le biais d’un robot qui ne sait que dire non (et encore, quand ça répond) ;
• on fait les chieurs pour envoyer les documents qu’ils me doivent (RI) ;
• on ignore les LRAR ;
• on n’envoie pas les courriers que la loi oblige à envoyer (mais on utilise la même loi quand il s’agit de souscrit).

… et on me raconte des salades.

Donc : Léocare, plus jamais.
Je déconseille cette assurance.

C’est clairement la pire expérience que j’ai eue avec n’importe quelle société (sauf avec VendreDVD, peut-être).

C’est à un point suffisamment négatif pour partager l’expérience ici.

Carapass de Boursorama : pas mieux

Je pensais aller chez l’assurance « Carapass » proposée par ma banque (BoursoBank, anciennement Boursorama) par le biais de Sogessur (groupe Société Générale), qui propose un tarif plutôt attractif pour mes besoins.

J’initie donc le truc en ligne. Quelques jours après, ils modifient le contrat initial par des avenants à coucher dehors. Notamment :

• hausse du tarif initial de plus de 40 % ;
• exigence de documents à la con ;
• changement de certaines franchises ;
• Ah oui, aussi, ils ont rejeté un des relevés d’informations d’un assureur précédent, qui avait été édité à J−32 avant l’échéance, disant qu’ils veulent du J−30.

Soit. Mais les autres assurances ne m’ont jamais fait chier pour exactement le même document (et à vrai dire je n’avais même vu ce détail). Bref, un e-mail à l’assurance de l’époque pour obtenir le RI et je l’ai en 15 minutes et leur transmet.
Vous voyez que les dates sont importantes pour eux, quand ça les arrange ? Vous comprenez maintenant pourquoi moi aussi je les trouve importantes ?

Concernant le « document à la con » qu’ils exigent : ils veulent une attestation que ma voiture possède un mécanisme antivol de niveau SRA4, sans quoi je perds ma couverture vol.
Déjà : WTF ? C’est la première fois que j’entends parler de ça de ma vie. Ensuite, j’apprends que la protection SRA4 est un dispositif de série sur toutes les voitures depuis 30 ans (désormais on est même à SRA7, au moins).

Un document qui atteste de cette protection, c’est donc comme produire une attestation que ma voiture possède bien un moteur et des roues : c’est ubuesque. À qui je demande ça, franchement ? Le SAV de Hyundai France ayant un service client similaire à Léocare, c’est peine perdue d’essayer de leur demander quoi que ce soit. Je connais mieux la voiture qu’eux.

L’opérateur de Sogessur au bout du fil ne comprenait pas non plus cette demande, qui n’est jamais demandé habituellement. Ça ne l’empêche pas de bosser pour la société qui la demande noir sur blanc dans un document contractuel, ni d’annuler cet avenant (problème, donc, qui ne sera jamais résolu).

Je leur envoie un e-mail pour dire que je refuse l’avenant. Cinq jours après, toujours pas de nouvelles.

Excédé, je leur envoie une LRAR en disant que je résilie le contrat (en plus d’un e-mail ; en plus d’avoir essayé de résilier le truc en ligne, mais qui me sort la fameuse « erreur technique, veuillez réessayer », je ne l’invente pas). Les conditions générales stipulent que je peux le faire en cas de désaccord avec une hausse de la prime d’assurance, ce qui est exactement le cas ici. Il s’agit d’un motif légitime. Ajoutons qu’ici, la couverture n’a même pas commencé.

Quinze jours après, la LRAR et mes e-mails ne sont toujours pas pris en compte et je n’ai aucune nouvelle.
À J+16, je reçois un mail disant qu’un document m’attend. Je vais voir dans l’espace client : que dalle. Rien de neuf.

C’est n’importe quoi. L’opérateur au téléphone me dit 24 à 48 h pour prendre en compte les documents. On est à 2 semaines. Je ne veux pas travailler avec des gens comme ça.

Après 3 semaines, je les appelle pour la troisième fois. Lors des autres appels, l’opérateur m’avait dit ne pas avoir accès aux e-mails que j’ai envoyé. Étrangement, cet opérateur-ci a tout sous les yeux.
Je résilie enfin le truc. L’on me dit que je recevrai immédiatement après un e-mail validant la résiliation. Évidemment, je ne reçois rien immédiatement après : j’ai reçu la notif le lendemain — puisque je vous dit qu’ils font tout traîner.

Ah, et début juin, soit bien après tout ça, je reçois un courrier papier de la part de Sogessur où ils disent avoir reçu ma LRAR (c’était il y a un mois, hein). Ils résument mon courrier afin d’y répondre. Ils expliquent le coup de la prime d’assurance de +40 % par le fait qu’un de mes relevés d’information de mes assureurs précédent n’avait pas été pris en compte, car il manquait deux jours dessus. Pour rappel, j’avais reçu un e-mail expliquant le refus du document, mais j’avais alors aussitôt envoyé un RI conforme ; nouvel RI qui n’a jamais été pris en compte par Sogessur, et la prime d’assurance n’a jamais été remis au tarif pour lequel j’ai signé.

Pour moi, donc, leur courrier est inutile : ils ne reconnaissent pas leur erreur pour ne pas l’avoir corrigé, n’ont jamais pris en compte mes documents, ont toujours un délai de réponse qui se chiffre en semaines.
Trois raisons de ne pas rester.

L’on me confirme, enfin, dans ce courrier, que ma résiliation est prise en compte. Ça c’est important, et il faut le conserver.

Gros lol final : ils regrettent de me voir partir.

Heu vous savez… si je rentre dans un restaurant, que je commande un burger à 10 €, que le serveur arrive pour me dire que finalement c’est 14 €, qu’il se casse quand je demande pourquoi, qu’après 2 heures j’attends toujours, faut pas « regretter » que je quitte l’établissement. Ni que je partage cette expérience de merde.

Ici c’est pareil.

Bon, il me faut tout de même une autre assurance. Laquelle ? Bah c’est assez simple : une agence physique. Celle chez qui j’étais il y a quelques années, et de qui j’ai reçu le RI en moins de 15 minutes par e-mail et sans broncher. Celle qui, de mémoire, a toujours été rapide.

Ouais ils sont plus chers, et pas qu’un peu : +20 % environ. Raison d’être parti par le passé.
Mais quitte à payer plus cher, au moins que ça soit justifié par un service client impeccable. J’imagine que c’est le prix des choses.

Cela reste révoltant qu’il faut choisir entre un tarif accessible et un service convenable. Oui, les assureurs en ligne sont bien moins chères, mais je sais maintenant pourquoi. Et tout ça, c’est uniquement pour du bullshit administratif : il n’a jamais été question d’un quelconque sinistre. Je n’ose pas imaginer avoir à faire à Léocare ou Sogessur dans un cas pareil.

Non, je n’ai pas choisi les procédures les plus simples, avec de multiples assureurs à gérer en même temps. Mais si Sogessur n’avait pas augmenté mon tarif par rapport au devis et l’offre de prix, s’ils n’avaient pas mis 3 semaines pour prendre en compte mes documents (et encore, après 3 semaines, je ne sais toujours pas s’ils sont pris en compte), je serais peut-être client chez eux.

L’assurance chez qui j’ai signé a pris en compte les documents en 5 minutes. Je leur ai envoyé, le temps d’aller à l’agence en sortie du travail, ils avaient préparé le dossier, m’avait fait une offre de prix et après lecture, quelques clics, un SMS de validation, tout était signé et validé. Et la LRAR envoyée le soir même. Y a quand-même une sacrée différence, non ?

For centuries, naming a child has been the father’s territory

In most cultures, babies automatically took their father’s surname without debate or discussion.

In fact, an 1881 New York court ruling declared that under “the common law among all English-speaking people,” women should automatically give up their surnames upon marriage.

This tradition runs so deep that even today, over 96% of children born to married heterosexual couples in the United States still take their father’s last name. Moms carry the baby for nine months, while dads contribute the name on the birth certificate.

In the UK as well, around 90% of straight women still take their husband’s name when they marry, many of whom pass it on to their child.

This unfair trend goes beyond surnames.

Historically, firstborn sons were named after their fathers. Daughters were named after paternal grandmothers.

Experts call this patrilineal naming — the practice of using names to trace and reinforce the father’s bloodline. It has never really been about honoring family, but more about marking ownership.

“While everyone should be free to make their own choices, there can be an implication that marriage fundamentally changes a woman’s identity, while it doesn’t for men. Assuming a heterosexual couple, the entire family having the man’s last name implies that the man is the ‘head of the household’,” says Jocelyn Stitt, professor of women’s and gender studies at the University of Michigan.

Stitt believes that this surname tradition, which clearly stems from patriarchy, reinforces power dynamics within the family.

Studies consistently show that women carry the heavier mental load at home. Yet when it comes to decisions that shape family identity, such as naming a child, they often have surprisingly little power.

A 2020 Gallup survey found that even in households that consider themselves equal partnerships, women still make fewer of the big decisions. Men were more likely to have the final say on finances, major purchases, and family traditions. Women, meanwhile, were left managing the day-to-day invisible work.

“We tend to connect a person’s identity with their name and since a name usually lasts a lifetime, new parents feel the pressure to ‘get it right’. The higher the stakes, the more likelihood of conflict,” says marriage and family therapist Kate Engler.

Choosing your husband’s mother’s name for your child might feel like a personal decision. But it’s heavily influenced by old-school traditions that still subtly expect women to bend to their partner’s family dynamics.

While patrilineal surnames are the norm in some countries such as the US and the UK, they are far from universal. In many cultures, including Spain, Mexico, Colombia, and Puerto Rico, children traditionally inherit a double-barrel surname that combines the last names of both their father and mother.

When the power imbalance becomes even more toxic

In this author’s case, the fight over a baby name might be a symptom of a much deeper psychological issue known as emotional enmeshment. It’s where a husband is unable to separate his identity and loyalties from his mother.

When a husband consistently prioritizes his mother’s feelings over his wife’s comfort, marital satisfaction goes down rapidly.

A study by psychologist Dr. Terri Apter revealed that 60% of daughters-in-law experience sustained, high-level stress due to friction with their mothers-in-law. The research showed that this tension almost always boils down to a battle for influence over the husband.

When a husband is emotionally enmeshed, he views his wife’s healthy boundaries as an attack on his mother.

“Being married to a mama’s boy can create drama between you and your husband on a constant basis when he does not distinguish the importance of making you and your family his priority,” says relationship strategist Sherrie Sims Allen, Ph.D.

Dr. Allen suggests that the wife should express to her husband that putting his marriage first is good for him, too.

Still, you can’t do the work for him. Experts believe that the partner who is enmeshed must change the dynamics.

By relentlessly pushing his mother’s name, the author’s husband is trying to physically carve his mother’s influence into the identity of his new household. He is demanding that his wife carry, deliver, and raise a child named after a woman who already oversteps her boundaries.

When naming a child becomes a battlefield, experts say the only way forward is to establish rock-solid boundaries and stand firm. When the process drags on, it can morph into deep anxiety, disappointment, and full-blown resentment.

“The bigger the family you have and the more cultures intertwine, the more difficult it will be to navigate between all suggestions and pick a name that everyone will be happy with,” explains Dr. Max Doshay, PsyD, co-founder of Monima Wellness.

He notes that setting clear boundaries from the very beginning is the only way to simplify a high-stakes decision.

Yet centuries-old traditions still carry significant weight. While women have successfully climbed to the top of corporations, led countries, and rewritten laws, the default expectation in the delivery room remains exactly as it was generations ago. Real progress, it seems, stops at the nursery door.

Ultimately, names are so much more than ink on a birth certificate. They carry our identity, telling the world exactly who we are and where we belong. Because the stakes are for a lifetime, a child’s name must be a choice that both parents genuinely love. It can’t be a compromise born out of exhaustion and tears.

"Rather than defining boys or men as 'good' or 'bad,' or 'tough' or 'weak,' it's important to recognize that men, like women, have many facets that extend far beyond the traditional expectations of their gender," cautions Dr. Carly Snyder, a reproductive and perinatal psychiatrist.

Snyder adds that society often pressures men to "be men" in the traditional sense, rather than simply be human.

"For men, vulnerability is often neglected, dismissed, or combated," warns the expert. "When men push down emotions, ignore feelings, or dismiss their feminine traits, their mental health will suffer."

Social justice activist and public speaker Ron Blake agrees.

Blake once swallowed a bunch of pills, in the hopes that they would end his life. His mental health struggles began in 2015 after three men broke into his apartment, held him down, had their way with him and beat him. 

Blake says society, and the police, failed him in his quest for justice. Purely because he's a man.

“A former FBI agent was brought in and did a detailed investigation on my case, and his report stated that the police treated me differently that night. He said it was because I was a male, and it became clear to many people that, because I’m a gay man, they just didn’t take it seriously,” revealed Blake.

Blake believes that toxic masculinity took more from him than justice. He struggled to speak openly about the trauma in a world where men are encouraged to remain silent, and “tough it out.”

Today, he encourages boys and men to communicate their feelings and emotions more freely. “Once we remove those barriers, it will allow people to truly be themselves, a human being, without hiding their emotions and who they are,” he says.

Society often dictates that men and boys should suppress their emotions but this can lead to them handling pain alone. Another case in point is that of student Ayaan Maker.

“My friend’s dog passed away during school, while I was with him. Instead of letting us comfort him, he walked away because he didn’t want anyone to see him crying,” Maker told Scot Scoop, Carlmont High School's student news site.

Blake believes that men need to be more empathetic so that they can process their feelings openly rather than internalizing them.

"We need men to be role models for the new generation. It all starts with teaching boys to not be men, but to be humans," he says. "This should not be a gender issue. Once we make this a human issue, toxic masculinity will fade."

"The truth is being a man can mean whatever you want it to mean," says Britt East, author of A Gay Man's Guide to Life. "You get to decide." This also means that society as a whole needs to stop putting people into boxes.

"Our society needs to remember that being a man doesn’t mean you have to like sports or women. Being a strong man doesn’t mean you can’t show weakness or cry. He says that words matter, and that "language that critiques men’s culture (toxic culture of masculinity) is received differently than language that critiques men’s personal sense of self (toxic masculinity)."

Annoncé début juin 2026, le nouveau système de contrôle des fonctionnalités d'IA générative dans Google Search dispose désormais d'une documentation officielle complète. Celle-ci n'était pas disponible au moment de l'annonce initiale. C'est Glenn Gabe qui a attiré l'attention de la communauté SEO sur sa mise en ligne, en soulignant notamment le système d'héritage entre propriétés parents et enfants.

Trois options pour gérer la présence de son site

Depuis Search Console, les propriétaires de sites disposent de trois réglages distincts.

• La première option, "Inclure", est le paramètre par défaut pour toutes les propriétés. Elle autorise Google à utiliser le contenu du site dans ses fonctionnalités génératives : le site peut apparaître comme source dans les AI Overviews, contribuer à ancrer les réponses de l'IA et recevoir du trafic et des impressions depuis ces surfaces.
• La deuxième option, "Exclure", empêche le contenu du site d'être visible dans l'ensemble des fonctionnalités d'IA générative de Search. Cela inclut les liens affichés dans ces fonctionnalités, ainsi que la participation au grounding des réponses générées. En clair : aucune impression, aucun trafic provenant de ces surfaces. Google précise toutefois que ce contrôle ne constitue pas un signal de classement ou d'inclusion pour les autres parties de Search. L'exclusion prend effet sous 1 à 2 jours après activation, avec un délai potentiellement plus long pour certains contenus en raison du cache et de la propagation dans les systèmes de Google.
• La troisième option, "Hériter", s'applique par défaut aux propriétés disposant d'une propriété parente. Elle signifie que la propriété enfant suit le réglage de son parent le plus proche ayant manuellement configuré son contrôle. Si aucun parent n'a modifié son paramètre, c'est le réglage du domaine de premier niveau qui s'applique. Ce comportement par héritage peut être remplacé à tout moment par une configuration manuelle au niveau de la propriété enfant.

Un système d'héritage à bien comprendre

La section consacrée à l'héritage entre propriétés est particulièrement détaillée dans la documentation officielle. Google y explique la logique de cascade : une propriété hérite du réglage de son parent le plus proche ayant arrêté d'hériter. Si l'ensemble de la chaîne parente est en mode héritage, c'est le domaine racine qui fait foi.

Ce mécanisme est important à maîtriser pour les sites organisés en plusieurs propriétés Search Console (sous-domaines, versions mobiles, etc.), car une modification au niveau parent se répercute automatiquement sur toutes les propriétés enfants n'ayant pas configuré de réglage manuel.

Un déploiement encore limité géographiquement

Pour l'heure, le dispositif n'est accessible qu'aux sites basés au Royaume-Uni. Google n'a pas encore communiqué de calendrier précis pour un déploiement plus large. La documentation officielle est cependant d'ores et déjà disponible et consultable par tous, et il est conseillé de la parcourir même sans intention immédiate d'utiliser les contrôles, afin de comprendre les implications pour la visibilité dans les nouvelles surfaces de Search.

La nouvelle séquence, testée cette semaine dans les conditions du direct, semble avoir donné entière satisfaction au producteur de l’émission Laurent Bon, à la tête de la société de production Bangumi. Le producteur invoque aussi des restrictions budgétaires pour justifier le recrutement de Willy le pauvre. « Nous n’avons plus les moyens de faire des sujets de fond pour humilier les pauvres. Cela nous coûte trop cher. Alors qu’avec Willy et sa tête de con, que nous payons uniquement en bons de réduction, c’est tout aussi efficace », déclare le producteur avant de se lancer dans une série de moqueries visant la dentition de son chroniqueur.

Willy le pauvre est la deuxième recrue annoncée par l’émission Quotidien. La semaine dernière, on pouvait découvrir « Le moment Fatou » sur les réseaux sociaux. La séquence montre l’équipe de Quotidien commenter, hilares, les images de Fatou, une employée filmée à son insu en train de faire le ménage dans les locaux de Bangumi.

Ce que Google dit, ce que Google montre

Commençons par lever une ambiguïté, parce qu'elle structure tout le reste.

L'annonce d'OKF parle de partage de la connaissance entre équipes et organisations. À la lecture, on imagine un format d'échange de données : je produis un bundle, vous le consommez, on se transmet du savoir.

Et pourtant. Quand on creuse un peu et qu'on ouvre les exemples livrés par Google dans son repo (les datasets GA4, Stack Overflow, Bitcoin) et l'agent d'enrichissement, on voit autre chose. Chaque concept décrit une table BigQuery : son schéma, le sens d'une colonne, les chemins de jointure, et un champ resource qui pointe vers la donnée, là où elle reste. La donnée ne voyage jamais.

Dit autrement : un concept qui décrit une table, c'est en pratique un skill. De la métadonnée, une grille de lecture pour un agent qui a déjà accès à l'entrepôt. Le bundle de référence est une couche d'annotation, un joli nom pour un skill posé sur des données que le producteur garde chez lui.

C'est utile, et c'est un usage parfaitement légitime du format. Mais c'est à un pas de la promesse. Le discours dit "partager la connaissance" ; la démonstration dit "décrire mes tables privées pour des agents". Le pointeur suppose que le lecteur peut le suivre.

Au passage : non, OKF n'est pas un levier de search, ni un nouveau llms.txt à coller sur son site pour plaire aux IA. On a creusé ce point ailleurs (Article linkedin en anglais) et on ne le refait pas ici. Mais on le redit clairement, parce que le raccourci est tentant.

Reste alors une question que les exemples n'abordent pas : et si le lecteur ne peut pas accéder à votre entrepôt, et si la connaissance qui vaut d'être partagée, c'est le résultat déjà calculé ?

Là où on se situe

Marie Haynes, dans son billet sur OKF, pousse l'idée plus loin que la simple conversion de pages. Elle relève une piste : on pourrait vendre des bundles de connaissance experte. Un avocat, un comptable, un consultant qui empaquette ses processus propriétaires dans un bundle qu'une autre organisation intègre.

C'est exactement ce qu'on fait, en concret.

Trois idées circulent en ce moment autour des bundles OKF :

• Convertir ses pages en Markdown OKF, le réflexe GEO qui va à l'encontre même du concept OKF. Ce n'est pas ça.
• Construire le sien, à la Haynes, à partir de ses propres documents. Le principe, validé à petite échelle.
• Vendre un bundle de data + expertise. C'est là que notre PoC se situe.

Deux précisions sur ce qu'il y a dans nos bundles, parce qu'elles font la différence.

D'abord, un bundle contient un extrait de notre donnée Discover enrichie : vos articles, vos entités phares, vos pipelines de distribution comme ceux de vos concurrents, calculés à partir d'un jeu de données que vous ne pourriez pas produire vous-même.

Ensuite, on embarque à la fois l'expertise et la donnée. Les playbooks (comment lire et interroger le bundle) voyagent avec le jeu de données. Connaissance, expertise et données dans un seul artefact.

Et là, le contraste avec la démonstration de Google devient net. Google annote des tables qu'il garde. Notre bundle, lui, est la donnée plus la façon de la lire, dans un objet autonome : rien à synchroniser, rien à aller rechercher ailleurs, il reste chez le client. C'est le coeur de la proposition.

Comment un bundle est fabriqué

Un producteur déterministe (un script, aucun LLM dans la boucle, donc reproductible et auditable) lit notre réplica analytique et sérialise l'empreinte Discover d'un site sur une période, dans un bundle autonome. Quelques partis pris, qui sont aussi nos limites assumées :

• Capture, pas trafic. Nos chiffres viennent d'un échantillon de capture. Ce ne sont pas des volumes de trafic, d'audience ou de revenus. On compare des positions relatives (des parts, des scores), jamais des volumes absolus. On ne prétend pas avoir une donnée parfaite ; on a une donnée comparable.
• La performance se mesure en score et en jours. Le score (0 à 100) situe le meilleur jour d'un article face au plus fort article du système ce jour-là. Les jours en feed mesurent la persistance. Les deux indicateurs se conjuguent pour apporter de la nuance.
• Les entités d'abord, les topics à titre indicatif. Les thèmes auto-classés sont bruités (un portrait peut finir rangé en "humour"). On s'appuie sur les entités, et on confronte toujours aux titres avant de conclure.

Ces règles ne sont pas reléguées en note de bas de page : elles voyagent dans le bundle, dans un concept GUARDRAILS que l'agent lit en premier. La grille de lecture fait partie de la livraison.

Un bundle, ce sont des fichiers : les sections de données, les playbooks (les skills) et le contrat de lecture GUARDRAILS, dans un seul dossier.

Ce qu'on peut réellement en tirer

Un bundle n'est pas qu'une donnée : il embarque les recettes pour la lire. L'agent du client choisit le playbook qui correspond à sa question et produit l'analyse lui-même. Le menu, en résumé :

• pipeline-profile : quels mécanismes du feed vous portent, et quel profil d'éditeur vous êtes.
• content-footprint : sur quoi vous êtes visible, et ce qui décroche vos pics.
• pipeline-evolution : comment ce mix se déplace dans le temps.

Si vous donnez à votre agent non pas juste votre bundle, mais votre bundle et celui d'un (ou plusieurs concurrents), vous débloquez des playbook bonus :

• content-gap : où un concurrent est devant, et quoi publier pour combler.
• content-fit : ce que ses succès ont de naturellement transposable chez vous, avec des idées de titres dans votre propre style.
• pipeline-conquest : quels pipelines menés par un concurrent vous pouvez réalistement prendre.

Aucun de ces playbooks n'a besoin de revenir vers nous.

Voici deux exemples, sur données réelles, anonymisées.

La veine qu'un rédacteur n'aurait pas cherchée

Prenez un réseau de presse régionale et un concurrent régional plus large qui le surclasse, même fenêtre de 30 jours, même locale. En surface, ils se ressemblent : article médian identique, score 2 sur 100. Tout l'écart est dans la traîne. Le top-décile du concurrent est à 16 contre 7, et il produit des articles "forts" (score supérieur ou égal à 50) à un rythme environ 2,6 fois supérieur.

Chaque bundle classe les entités de deux façons : par fréquence de mention, et par score. Le classement par mention, pour les deux sites, n'est presque que de la géographie : il ne dit rien. Le classement par score, lui, révèle l'essentiel.

En haut de la table par score du concurrent, une grappe quasi invisible en volume : l'agriculture et l'économie rurale. Agroécologie : score médian 61, top-décile 90, persistance médiane 8 jours. Pas un pic d'un jour, une veine. Derrière, des portraits de fermes au premier degré (un jeune couple reprend une exploitation, un maraîcher se reconvertit en bio). Le genre porte tout le haut du classement du concurrent, autour de 90.

Et le réseau régional ? Il écrit le même genre. Mais à plat : quand il publie ce type de portrait, il score autour de 11 quand le concurrent score autour de 90. Même sujet, même locale, même mois. Il ne lui manquait pas le sujet. Il lui manquait le traitement qui le fait durer.

Aucun rédacteur ne tape "portrait d'éleveur de chèvres" dans un outil. Ce n'est pas une tendance, ça ne fait pas de pic, et en volume c'est du bruit. Ça n'apparaît que si on cesse de classer par fréquence pour classer par performance. C'est ça, le moteur.

Les entités d'un site. Par part de mentions elles se ressemblent ; par score, la veine agricole se détache de la géographie qui remplit le feed.

Caractériser un site, finement

Sur un seul bundle, le même jeu de données dresse un portrait précis. Sur le réseau régional : une très large surface (une présence de masse), mais une intensité par article faible et concentrée. Score médian 2, top-décile 7, seulement 0,8 % d'articles forts, persistance médiane de 3 jours. Une traîne plate, et quelques pics. Le bundle nomme à la fois ce qui remplit le feed (la géographie, l'événementiel local, tous à faible score) et les veines à faible part mais fort score qui, elles, décrochent : épaves et découvertes patrimoniales (score médian 71), inventions du "génie ordinaire", faune de saison. La caractérisation est actionnable sur un seul site, pas seulement en comparaison.

Deux questions, deux réponses : le gap et le fit

Une chose qu'on a dû expliciter en construisant les playbooks, et qui compte beaucoup pour Discover : "où suis-je en retard ?" (le gap) et "qu'est-ce qui me correspond naturellement ?" (le fit) sont deux questions différentes, avec des réponses différentes. Les confondre, c'est courir après du contenu qui ne prendra jamais.

Un exemple volontairement générique. Un site centré sur l'éducation et les enfants ; des concurrents qui performent sur le jardinage.

Le fit ne retient pas le jardinage : aucun ancrage commun avec une empreinte éducation-enfants. La recette dit, clairement, ne recommande pas ça. Une méthode qui ne dit que oui ne vaut pas qu'on lui fasse confiance ; c'est le non honnête qui donne du poids au oui.

Le gap, lui, signale le jardinage : une demande réelle, qui performe, et que le site n'a pas. Le signal qu'elle est atteignable ? Le thème marche chez plusieurs concurrents directs à la fois. Quand un sujet performe sur un ensemble de sites qui servent la même audience, c'est qu'aux yeux de Google les profils servis sont assez proches pour être compatibles.

Et le gap ne recommande pas "jardinage" brut. Il le recentre sur la force du site : jardiner avec les enfants (des semis qui poussent vite, un carré de balcon que les petits surveillent, des plantes non toxiques, un hôtel à insectes). Même demande prouvée, réancrée sur un terrain que le site tient.

Le fit répond à "qu'est-ce que je publie qui me ressemble", le gap à "où est la demande prouvée près de moi", et les coups les plus durables sont à l'intersection.

On déroule l'exemple avec plusieurs use cases sur notre site.

Deux façons de récupérer cette intelligence

Reste une question pratique : comment on vous livre tout ça. Deux modèles, et ils ne s'opposent pas.

Le premier, c'est le rapport clé en main, celui qu'on produit à la demande depuis un moment, et que les clients nous redemandent. Notre donnée, notre extraction, nos agrégats et nos tops, un raisonnement par-dessus, et un rapport personnalisé, assisté par IA, à partir d'un gabarit. Vous voulez la réponse, toute faite, avec notre lecture : c'est ce modèle. Le résultat est dense, le plus complet possible, technique.

Le second, c'est le bundle OKF que vous gardez. De la donnée enrichie, aggrégée, pré-filtrée, qui reste chez vous. Vous posez vos propres questions, vous itérez, vous comparez plusieurs bundles, vous y ajoutez votre propre donnée (la Search Console, par exemple), vous testez plus loin. Vous voulez posséder la donnée et continuer à l'interroger : c'est ce modèle.

Ce n'est pas l'un ou l'autre. Un rapport peut sortir d'un bundle, et un bundle survit à n'importe quel rapport. Le bundle, c'est votre carte ; vous la gardez.

Ce qu'on ne prétend pas

Pour finir, et parce que l'honnêteté fait partie du travail : Google n'a pas illustré cet usage, ses exemples décrivent des tables d'entrepôt. On a simplement expérimenté : poussé à bout le pari "l'agent sait lire" et mis notre donnée enrichie à l'intérieur du bundle. Ce que l'agent en tire, les deux exemples plus haut en sont la preuve, est allé plus loin que ce qu'on attendait d'un format aussi mince. C'est tout ce qu'on revendique, ni plus ni moins.

Le format est mince. Ce qu'on met dedans, et la façon de le lire, font tout. Le reste, les questions que vous posez, les comparaisons, les arbitrages éditoriaux, c'est vous qui les menez. Comme tout bon capitaine, c'est en naviguant dans vos propres données que vous ferez vos meilleures découvertes.

« Ce n’est pas la première fois que Jérôme fait le coup » raconte son meilleur ami Philippe. « La semaine dernière déjà il avait organisé les 10 ans de sa fille dans un PMU pour suivre le match de l’équipe de France. Et la semaine d’avant, il avait proposé à sa femme de passer leur soirée en amoureux au Balto pour regarder Mexique – Afrique du sud sous prétexte que c’était le match d’ouverture. On ne le changera pas, c’est Jéjé » conclut Philippe avec philosophie. 

Une passion qui n’a cessé de s’aggraver au fil des matchs, conduisant Jérôme à poser des RTT au travail et à rater des déjeuners dans sa belle-famille pour assister à Uruguay – Nouvelle-Zélande, Autriche – Jordanie, ou encore Canada – Bosnie-Herzégovine. « Le pompon ça a été quand il n’est pas venu à une réunion parents-profs sous prétexte qu’il devait à tout prix connaître la fin du match Belgique – Égypte, Murielle n’a pas supporté » se désole Philippe.

Aux dernières nouvelles, les deux époux auraient convenu d’une rupture à l’amiable qui devait être contractualisée lors d’un rendez-vous avec leur avocat la semaine dernière. Rendez-vous que Jérôme a hélas raté, trop absorbé par la rencontre entre l’Équateur et le Curaçao.

« Ce n’est pas la première fois que Jérôme fait le coup » raconte son meilleur ami Philippe. « La semaine dernière déjà il avait organisé les 10 ans de sa fille dans un PMU pour suivre le match de l’équipe de France. Et la semaine d’avant, il avait proposé à sa femme de passer leur soirée en amoureux au Balto pour regarder Mexique – Afrique du sud sous prétexte que c’était le match d’ouverture. On ne le changera pas, c’est Jéjé » conclut Philippe avec philosophie. 

Une passion qui n’a cessé de s’aggraver au fil des matchs, conduisant Jérôme à poser des RTT au travail et à rater des déjeuners dans sa belle-famille pour assister à Uruguay – Nouvelle-Zélande, Autriche – Jordanie, ou encore Canada – Bosnie-Herzégovine. « Le pompon ça a été quand il n’est pas venu à une réunion parents-profs sous prétexte qu’il devait à tout prix connaître la fin du match Belgique – Égypte, Murielle n’a pas supporté » se désole Philippe.

Aux dernières nouvelles, les deux époux auraient convenu d’une rupture à l’amiable qui devait être contractualisée lors d’un rendez-vous avec leur avocat la semaine dernière. Rendez-vous que Jérôme a hélas raté, trop absorbé par la rencontre entre l’Équateur et le Curaçao.

No country is without sin. And nobody has a clean slate. There are a lot of unpalatable secrets lurking in any country’s history and present. Even though it might be uncomfortable dragging them into the spotlight, acknowledging these less-than-savory facts is the first step to solving the issues in the first place.

The redditors living in Europe opened up about the dark facts about their home countries in a brutally honest thread over on r/AskEurope. These facts might not be for everyone, so fair warning, some of the things you might read are darker than dark.

England. I don’t know how unknown this is but Alan Turing who helped to break Nazis’ enigma code was arrested for being gay and was chemically castrated by the government he helped years ago. He was banned from GCHQ and the US which greatly effected his career. He killed himself in 1954.

In Italy a r*pist could marry his victim to avoid any legal persecution (this practice was called "matrimonio riparatore"). The women were pressed to accept the marriage to avoid social shame. Franca Viola, in 1948, was the first woman to refuse to marry her r*pist, but this practice was abolished by law only in 1981.

Sweden used to treat Sami natives in northen Sweden as second class citizens for the longest time and we barely learn about it in school. As late as the 70s Sami children were still forcefully taken from their Sami parents and adopted by Swedish parents to ”make them Swedish”

User u/AkruX explained that they were inspired to create the thread on r/AskEurope after learning that their home country, the Czech Republic (aka Czechia), was at one point ranked the third-worst slavery haven in the entirety of Europe. They were completely shocked by this.

Very recently, Bored Panda spoke to Brooke Burris, who chairs the Tri-County Human Trafficking Task Force in the Charleston area in South Carolina. She went into detail with us about human trafficking. It’s a deep-seated problem that is global, not located in just any one or two countries.

According to Brooke, people care about fighting against human trafficking more when they realize that it’s a local problem.

Norway. How terrible we have suppressed the Sami people and how we forcefully assimilated them in order to “fit in” with the “Norwegian culture”. And how the racism against them still exist very much to this day. They are still treated horrible by Norwegians and we are barely learned anything about their history in our schools.

NOBODY answered from the USA!? SO MANY...but I've always thought that how the land was taken from the original inhabitants one of the worst things this 'land of the free' has done. The massacres, the forced relocations, the infecting with smallpox, the loss of their identity as independent peoples...the list just goes on. Continued up until taking Hawaii away from the ruling monarchy in the 1800's.

"The U.S. Dept. of State has recognized that trafficking is a global problem, solved on the local level through a multidisciplinary response. The more local one's focus on the nature and prevalence of the issue, the better and truer understanding one will have as to both (1) the scale of trafficking and (2) how they specifically can take ownership of the problem and become a part of the solution,” she explained.

The expert noted that human trafficking is a far broader and more complex problem than it’s presented in movies. 

"Kidnapping and using physical force/coercion is only one means by which a trafficker can control a victim," she said.

Spain is only second to Cambodia for missing persons cases that were never resolved. There is a government run online search tool for finding mass graves.

"In fact, according to a report of prosecuted [intimacy] trafficking cases in the U.S., 59% of coercive tactics used by traffickers were non-physical, compared to 41% of tactics involving physical coercion. Further, transportation is merely one type of action used by a trafficker,” Brooke told us.

Though it’s unlikely that human trafficking will be fully rooted out globally or in any particular country, it is vital to limit its scope.

“Until the Lord comes, I think evil will always exist in our world. Therefore, if I'm honest, I don't think we will be able to eradicate human trafficking entirely," Brooke said that it’s important to keep fighting injustice, but it’s equally vital to be realistic about the scope of the problem.

France. Forced sterilization of intellectually disabled people was a very common thing until the early 2000s. There's now a law requiring consent since 2001, but I wouldn't be surprised to learn forced sterilization still happens.

Portugal has massive problem with domestic violence (including femicide and child abuse). Strict catholic patriarchy was THE rule until 1974, so it's still hanging around in older generations and trickling down on their descendants. And most offenders get off with a slap on the wrist because we still have courts full of old [butt] judges.

Netherlands. In 1620, the Dutch East India Company committed genocide on the people on the Indonesian Banda Islands, under the flag of the Dutch fleet. Murdered 95% of the population as punishment. Their crime? Selling nutmeg to the Portuguese and the English. I don't even like nutmeg that much. Their population still isn't at the level it was before the genocide.

In Ireland we were under such control of the Catholic church until 2000s. Our constitution was drawn up with their approval and still says that women have a role in the home. Anyway the control of the church meant that the church got away with shielding and transferring p********e priests ( well known). The not so well known was the following three things outside Ireland are: Mother and baby homes - This was where unwed mothers were brought. They were a shamed, has their children taken away. The children either died or were adopted illegally to Irish and American families. They also burned their records and one in Tuam Co Galway dumped the bodies of many children who died in a septic tank (tank where sewage is stored from houses not connected to the main sewage system). Magdalene Laundries - this was where runways and some troubles were brought. They were slaves in a laundry and received nothing and were treated terribly and the religious orders made money off the backs of this slavery. The last one wasn't closed till the 90s which is messed up. Also corporal punishment in schools until the late 60s early 70s especially in industrial schools (some of which were for troubled boys and the abuse there was messed up. So yes we have a dark past. Now it makes sense why there are few young Catholics in Ireland. We don't mention it much but we know and it makes me ashamed and I'm 25.

Germany. Female genital mutilation in Germany. It makes me incredibly angry as it is an more or less unpunished crime for decades now and nothing is done really. Every few years, when sombody decides to report about it measures are announced, but nothing will be really done.

United Kingdom. King Edward VIII was a N**i sympathiser; he and his wife visited Germany in the 30s to have dinner with Hitler and inspect SS troops. In the 60s, he is believed to have said to a friend: "I never thought Hitler was such a bad chap."

Romania. A few years back there was a scandal of a pediatric doctor that did extremely painful medical experiments on children he was supposed to be treating, such as putting a metal rod near their backs and putting screws into their spines to "fix" scoliosis or something similar with bones he considered weren't growing properly. He mostly targeted poor families, or families with kids with weird conditions because he figured they wouldn't be able to or have the power to question his practices. Also the fact that it's been revealed several orphanages drug the kids there and tie them to their beds to keep them compliant. I've also read a religious article of an "exorcism" that was performed on a little kid they called posessed because "he would suddenly go very still and start shaking violently" (to anyone with a brain it's obvious he was just seizing). Instead of following the procedure for a seizure, which is making sure he isn't in danger of hurting himself by bashing his head or something, they rushed him to a church and placed him on the floor there (and it wasn't a soft floor by any means). Or the fact that we've had gay people thrown in prison for being gay several years after communism fell (I think either late 90's or even early 00's). Or, not that sinister but just plain stupid and more recent: the church brought "moase" (aka remains of "saints") during the current pandemic and hundreds of people just lined up to kiss them, all on the same spot too :) (it's a /s smile, don't get me wrong).

In Ireland homosexuality was only decriminalised in 1993, after a 16 year legal battle which ended up in the European Court of Human Rights in 1988 (it took 5 years to implement the courts ruling).

I guess colonization is a dark time for many countries, in Denmark is was no different, but often you talk about the islands is the Caribbean or Africa, but the treatment of Greenlandic people has been absolutely horrible in Denmark. They have been treated 2. rank citizens, and everything was dictated from Denmark and they had little to no say in it. Still I have heard that higher education in Greenland is taught in Danish not Greenlandic, but they might have changed that?

Turkey. The years 1980-1983 were very dark years for Turkey - a paranoid nationalist military junta coupled with guerilla warfare in the countryside and massive political repression. Add torture in military prisons, kangaroo courts, and state-funded assassinations to that. Pardon my French, but the [jerk] who caused all that died before his jail sentence was approved.

I don't know if it's not known but Italy passed racial laws during WWII. More recent: the "trattativa stato mafia" aka "state-mafia negotiations" in 1993 and 1994. Essentially it was a secret negotiation between very high government figures and Sicilian Mafia chiefs, at the end of the "massacre season" in which Mafia carried out literal terrorist attacks, since there was a very strong battle against them carried out by the Palermo group (pool di Palermo). The prosecutors Falcone and Borsellino died at the end of the massacre season, after they hit hard the Sicilians with the Maxiprocesso (aka Mega-Trial)

Traveling is one of the most exciting things we can do in this world. Why wouldn’t we want to see as much as we possibly can of this fascinating planet? We don’t mean to scare you with these tales because, let's be honest, we don’t actually need to leave our home countries to encounter dangerous individuals. And the vast majority of the time, traveling creates wonderful memories. But these stories might just serve as a healthy reminder to be smart and cautious when traveling, and always be aware of your surroundings. Mine wasn't abroad. We were traveling from Kingman Arizona to Tucson Arizona. Car broke down and we were lucky enough to be able to get off the freeway and into a parking lot of a store in the middle of nowhere. The building was a run-down place with nowhere AZ painted on the side. It's the middle of the day at this point but in afraid. I tell my friend that this is like some house of 1000 corpses s**t. She's trying to get service on her phone and there's nothing. Then two creepy guys who look like they kidnap women and steal their skin come out from around the building. I swear I've never felt so cold. They came to the driver's side and asked what was up. We explain that the car had broken down and one guy asked to pop the hood. The other guy went into the building. He came back out with a toolbox and sealed snacks for us and the kids we had in the back seat. They fixed our car for free and sent us on our way. We couldn't thank them enough and we tipped them what we could. Several miles away the car takes a s**t again. We have service and are stuck on the side of the highway so we call my mom to come to get us. It's starting to get dark now and a big a*s truck pulls up behind us and two dudes get out. Same guys. They fixed it again and sent us on our way. We start driving and call mom to update her. We got home safely and never saw the guys again. That was seriously wild though and 2x I thought we were gonna die and 2x those guys taught me not to be a judgmental a*****e.

A friend of mine went on a trip to Thaïland, staying at a relatively inexpensive hostel. In the middle of the night, my friend was violently woken up by hotel staff and moved to a different floor. Turns out the hotel was gassing the rooms on that floor to deal with a bed bug issue. The hotel accidentally gave guests rooms on the floor they were gassing, and didn't notice until they killed a couple.

On a train in Athens traveling alone, a group of men tried to push me off the train with them at a stop. Three women started yelling at them and pulled me back. It happened to fast I didn't know until the one that spoke English explained they were trying to take me. They made sure I made it back to the hostel and told me not to wear what I was wearing ( shorts and a tank) while alone.

Top two. 1. Travelling across Cambodia. Get to Preah Vihear, which is disputed border territory with Thailand. See my driver talking to the armed guards and pointing towards the hill. Ask him what’s up. Gives me binoculars. Looking through those tiny glass windows, I see it’s the Thai army on the border not too far away aiming their guns at us. High tailed it out of there. That was scary in retrospect. 2. In New Zealand, of all scary places in the world (/s), trekking Fox Glacier with my boyfriend. Getting towards the end, but still at least a kilometre to go. All of a sudden there’s a loud CRACK. The stairs collapse beneath my boyfriend and plummets. I grab his hand and scream out to him to hold on but the glacier has made us wet, numb, slippery. His fingers slip through mine, and I watch him fall down the crevice, about 10metres, rolling, hitting clumps of ice, until his body stops just before a cliff, held up by a wedge of ice. My now-husband still gets shoulder and knee pain from the accident, but he is whole. I will never forget the sound I made screaming out his name down the crevice.

In India our bus rounded a corner in the mountains and another bus was on the other side of the curve. Both busses skid to a stop about 1 foot from one another. Both drivers started laughing and poking fun at each other. We saw a bus from the '80s that fell down the mountain about 15 minutes later. Hella intense.

I was traveling by van through the mountains in the Philippines with a friend that is a really big guy. We came up on a checkpoint with soldiers searching cars. The guys we’re all wearing mismatched clothes and did not have any insignias on their uniforms or trucks. They searched all of our bags and we’re asking questions of the driver in Tagalog, which we did not speak. We heard them say American and we we’re the only two Americans on the bus. They talked for a little while and finally waved us through. Later we told the story to another American and he said we had gone through a Guerrilla controlled area where Americans had been kidnapped for ransom lately. They all agreed they did not take us because of the size of my friend. I think we got really lucky that day.

I had a pack of wild dogs chase me from my bus stop to my hotel at 3 am in Kosovo. I also had a old woman yell at me in Russian about not making my bed right on the train and then watched over my shoulder til it was to her satisfaction when I was on my way back to Bucharest from Moldova

It was my first time visiting New York City. My aunt and uncle who both work in FiDi (Financial District) took the whole week off to show me and my family around Manhattan. It was a beautiful Tuesday morning and we just had our photos taken around Wall Street when the first plane crashed into the WTC

A good friend of mine in Zimbabwe was grabbed at gunpoint and forced into a van, thankfully they only took her to an ATM and made her drain her account then they left her somewhere outside town. Could've been so much worse

My buddy and I were flying into Malaysia from Vietnam on the day that MH370 went missing. We were at the gate watching the whole thing unfold about it going missing. It was playing on virtually all the TV's in the airport. We were flying Malaysia Airlines. The tickets were expensive (for a backpacker's budget) and they weren't offering any refunds. Told ourselves that maybe they'd be extra cautious now so we're actually more safe. Definitely puckered up for 2 hours until we touched down.

I was in a bar in Athens in 1985 when someone left an explosive device there. Of the 50 plus people injured, I was luckily not one of them. My ears rang for a couple of days and I spilled my beer but that was it.

Was on a flight once going into Orlando that hit some unexpected turbulence. This was no ordinary turbulence. We went from 0 to 100 in an instant. People literally flew out of their seats, luggage fell from the overhead bins, people screamed like they were going to die. There were several sudden drops in elevation strong enough that people's arms flew up in the air and my b**t came out of the seat. I've flown quite a bit and sometimes it gets bumpy. This was the first time I seriously thought something bad was going to happen.

I was walking around in a town in Algeria. I wandered in to a neighborhood, and noticed there were hardly any people out. A little further, and there were literally no people out. I started to feel a little uneasy. And then I see an extremely tall man walking towards me, straight towards me, obviously with intent. He gets closer, and I see an older gentleman with a long grey beard and wearing a grey tunic. I stop. He comes right up to me and says, in pretty good English, “you’re not safe here, we need to get you off the street”. I say “OK”, and he says “follow me”. We walk a few blocks and we come to a door, he says “wait here a minute”, and he goes inside. He opens the door again and invites me in. When I get inside, there are maybe a dozen men. They are all dressed in black, and they are staring absolute daggers at me. Grey-beard lays in to them, starts shaking his fists at them, gets really worked up. Then one of the younger guys goes in to the kitchen and brings out some tea and cookies, and offfers them to me. So, I’m drinking tea, and trying to smile, and one of the young guys asks where I’m from and I say “The States” and he starts talking about the CIA and stuff... and then I say “you think the CIA is bad here? Let me tell you about Central America”, and then pretty soon everybody is warming up to me and we’re laughing and talking s**t about American foreign policy and drinking tea. After a bit of that the older man invites me back to his apartment. He has a huge library. I gift him a book that I had finished. And then he tells me what had just happened. His little brother, who was one of the younger men, was the leader of a radical group, all the other men I had met. He had overheard them getting ready to kidnap me. But he had shamed them for not being good hosts, and for disrespecting him because it was his house. He said that I would be safe from then on. TLDR: Gandalf saves my life and got a copy of Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance for his trouble.

Friend of a friend went to Jamaica with her parents and sister when she was about 12. They came back to their hotel room one day to find a guy in there trying to rob them. He stabbed the girl's dad (he lived) and escaped. They had to go through family therapy after that.

I was walking to a pharmacy down a busy avenue in Rabat, Morocco. It was the Feast of the King so most people had off work and school, meaning the avenue was empty. Myself and two volunteers (all three young, white females) are walking and chatting when two guys on a motorbike pass us the opposite way. They drove over the median and pulled up beside us. The guy on the back gets off and walks toward us then pulls a machete out from underneath his flannel. Girl 1 throws her purse, Girl 2 throws her phone, and both go running. Guy comes after me and I wrap my hand around my purse (had my passport, wallet, phone, etc.) and he holds the machete up to my neck. I say a few choice words to him in Arabic (essentially “Shame on you by Allah”, which is something I was taught by locals to keep the kids I was working with at an orphanage in line). Machete man promptly appears to s**t his pants. He goes after the dropped phone and purse and I start running the rest of the way to the pharmacy. I wind up there crying and the other two girls meet me. People are starting to congregate. Some witnessed it while driving by while others are trying to translate for us. A woman says she will drive us home after speaking with the security guard at the pharmacy. We agree and get into a minivan. I provide directions in Arabic and the woman drives right past the house, blowing stop signs and ignoring traffic lights. It’s then we realize we’re about to get kidnapped. One of the two girls reached forward, opened the door of the van, and we jumped out while it was moving. TLDR: Held up at machete-point then almost trafficked in Morocco during my first international travel experience.

Guy in Aruba tried to kidnap/r*pe me, I think. I'm a single female and found a crazy cheap ticket out there. Decided to use it as a chance to get my advanced diver certificate. Anyway, I went on a horse riding trip where the tour picked up a group in a minivan. On the way back, the driver skipped my stop and dropped off the last riders at their hotel. After a moment of confusion (I was unsure of my surroundings, but felt like this was wrong), I asked why we drove past my place. The driver said "oh I'm taking a different way." And I said, "that really doesn't make sense. The traffic is fine. It's more direct this way. Can we just go back?" He was quiet and kept driving, and now my heart was pounding so hard I could hear it in my ears. He said, "there's a really great beach down this way; not many tourists." At this point he was driving through the backside of a shopping complex, nobody in sight, dusk, and I was considering if I should try to jump out of a moving vehicle... but because I'd get stranded in an empty parking lot, it'd be all too easy for him to grab me again. Instead I said "I can't. There are people waiting for me. I just texted them saying I'm in the car on the way home and will be there in a few minutes. I'll be late if we don't go back now." Somehow that worked, he turned the car around and his whole attitude changed. He started telling me how he had a wife and kids. My heart was thundering, but I think I sounded normal. (Also I had 0 cell phone reception. The story about the text was a lie, and I had no way to phone for help if he called my bluff.) F*****g scary. If that s**t happens on a tour when you go in a decent sized group, I have no idea how you stay safe as a single female traveler.

We went on a family trip to Croatia and on our way to the beach we pulled over to the side of a road for a pee break. So we opened the car door and like always our dog jumps out first. He ran into the field right next to the Street. Then suddenly my mother starts screaming the name of our dog because 10 meters away from our car was a sign that said: Stay Away, an old minefield. Thankfully nothing happened

Got pickpocketed by a group of 3 on a Paris metro. I'm paranoid of losing my wallet, so I'm always checking myself. When I realized it was missing, I made a bigger scene than the pickpockets were making (they shoved me into their friend and were trying to convince people I knocked him down). I stopped the train from leaving the station. One of the other passengers left to get got conductor and security. I guess that didn't sit well with the pickpockets, so they gave me back my wallet and took off running. Edit: This event still freaks my wife out.

1992 I was walking up the stairs to the ticket booths in the Warsaw, Poland central train station. All of a sudden this dude is falling down the stairs coming to rest a few stairs above where I was standing. Dude had a long screw driver sticking out of his abdomen.

Husband had a month long job in Japan. We joined him for the last week of his gig. My daughter and I had made reservations about two months ahead of the trip to go to the Ghibli Museum in Mitaka (an hour by train outside of Tokyo). Since we didn't know husband's work schedule, only got tickets for her and I. Found out last minute that he had the day off so he came with us. They managed to find him a ticket and he joined us. We left earlier than planned because he had to get back for a 5:00 call. We would continue on up to Harajuku after his subway stop. Two stops before we would have parted ways, the train came to an immediate stop and frantic Japanese came over the speaker. Shortly after that, the car started rocking. And kept rocking. And kept rocking. For about ten minutes. Hubs said he realized it was bad when he saw people taking out their phones and start texting (something you never saw on the subway). After half an hour, the car slowly crawled to the next station. A friendly English speaking woman informed us that there had been a bad earthquake, and the trains were shutting down. We walked the two miles back to the hotel and met up with the rest of his crew. We had to stay in the lobby for eight hours while maintenance checked the building for damages before we could go up to our rooms. The aftershocks continued for the next five days before we flew back home. We were in the Tokyo subway for the Tohoku earthquake on March 11, 2011. I can honestly say, I didn't start getting nervous until they started talking about needing to take iodine table because of the power plant emissions. And it wasn't until we were back home and watching all the news specials about the quake and tsunami that I realized how truly dangerous the situation had been. Mid western ignorance on earthquakes saved our trip, I guess.

I fell asleep on a long-distance bus in Greece and woke to a toothless old woman running her fingers through my hair. She kept repeating something in Greek over and over; other riders found it hilarious but wouldn't tell me what she was saying. Unfortunately I couldn't get off the bus, so I had to make her get away from me, and then sat there [angry] off and embarrassed for the remaining 90 minutes of the trip

A handful of men in Thailand were vehemently trying to haggle with my friends to purchase me. They kept pulling my arms to try and seperate us and asking "how much" and offering different amount of money. Edit: Jesus this blew up! Thailand is a very beautiful place and very safe for travel, guys! The place I was at, Pattaya Beach, is the central location where we are allowed to stay when the ship pulls into port. It's basically nothing but bars and brothels. Don't go there. I don't know why they even let *us* go there. Even if you did go, you'd most likely not be in any danger, the people are very helpful and kind but every place has bad people and we happened to run into them. I'm not even sure if these men were Thai. Don't let this freak you out from going. SEA does have a dark underbelly of human trafficking but it's pretty unlikely you will be involved in it as a tourist. And everyone who is freaking out about the Sailors "buying" underage girls; they're just stupid kids who want to get their d**k wet. They have literally no idea that these girls are underage and just think they're paying a prostitue. Most of these idiots can't even fathom that child trafficking is a thing. We make every effort possible to keep this from happening and inform our Sailors about what is really going on. Your average US servicemember is just as disgusted as you are that this happes to children.

I was traveling in Costa Rica with two flashy businessmen who were there to possibly purchase a gentleman’s club. We were staying at the Radisson and asked the concierge to get us a cab to the club. We got in the cab and made sure that the driver knew where we were going. We were told it was a 10 min drive. About 7 min in I realized that we were not in a touristy part of town. At all. The driver is whispering into his phone in Spanish, staring at us in the rear view mirror. I get uneasy and look at my companions, who are clearly feeling the same way. We ask “are we almost there?” Oh si! Uno momento. More whispering. Not good. We are being set up. It’s been 10 minutes and we are in a sketchy residential area. I’m sitting in the middle and my partner opens his briefcase and hands me a pen and tells me to stab someone if I need to. What?! He passes another pen to the other man. He’s sitting directly behind the driver and takes his own gold pen and holds it to the drivers jugular and screams “TAKE US BACK TO THE RADISSON RIGHT F*****G NOW”, the partner snatched the drivers phone and hangs up. I’m just clutching the pen. We did make it back to the Radisson. The jewelry was deposited into the safe in the room for the rest of the trip and we eventually made it safely to the club. I was young and naive, I had had my passport for 3 days at this point and didn’t really get that we shouldn’t have been traveling there with that amount of flashy jewelry.

I was working in a poor community in a small village in Romania (helping to build a small extension to a school), at around dusk I decided to go for a short walk to the local shop for some water when a car drove past me. They suddenly broke and reversed down the road and stopped beside me, telling me to get into their car as they want to show me their cool things (radios, cars, knives) they kept slowly curb-crawling me and demanding I got in the car until I got back to my group whereby they sped off. For the next couple of days the same car (I believe) kept driving past and stopping outside where we were staying (for 30 minute intervals several times a day) and I was staying a good hour away from the village. Creepy as all h**l and I still believe it could have gone badly.

I was on a volunteer trip to Guatemala and we took a day trip to see some Mayan ruins on a small island. My friend and I were looking for a bathroom and several locals pointed us in the direction of one at the top of the mountain. We found a small building with no door and one toilet. My friend says I can go first and she’ll stand watch. I start going about my business when I hear my friend saying that I should hurry up and then I hear a mans voice shouting something in spanish about “permiso”. Out of no where he barges in while I’m mid pee pointing a very large gun at me. He had some sort of uniform on so he may have been police but I’m not sure. I pull up my pants, completely paranoid, grab my friend, tell the man Lo siento over and over and run as fast as I can down the hill. He was shouting after us but didn’t follow. Although nothing happened I was terrified and my poor friend still had to pee!!

Gypsies in Romania tried to (what I can only assume) sell me a baby... The woman, who looked like she was using since the day she first saw light, kept a one sided haggling conversation in her own language all the while shoving the tiny child at me. The swarm of children aged between 2-12 kept touching me and what I can only imagine is "appraising" my clothes... This didn't really end until I had to raise my voice and go serious. I walked away and went back to the village where I was staying with a friend of mine at his distant relatives' house. After telling our hosts the bizarre tale attempted human trafficking, they proceeded to inform me that the child was most likely stolen from somewhere else in Romania, another town most likely. It was apparently a local racket, reselling newborn kids to international tourists. What really gets me is the way in which they were telling this story. As if it was business as usual. P.S. Hosts where very kind hospitable people. Lead tough lives though...

Le spam de nouveau dans le viseur de Google

En mai 2026, Google déployait sa dernière Core Update en date. C'est au tour de la mise à jour des algorithmes anti-spam de repointer le bout de son nez.

Spam Update : la différence avec la Code Update

Les mises à jour anti-spam ciblent spécifiquement les pratiques de spam sur les sites web, comme le contenu généré automatiquement en masse, le contenu de faible qualité ou dupliqué, les redirections trompeuses, et d'autres abus visant à manipuler le classement. Elles ont pour objectif de nettoyer les résultats de recherche des contenus trompeurs ou abusifs en améliorant les systèmes automatisés anti-spam de Google.

• La dernière mise à jour anti-spam remonte à mars 2026

Les mises à jour du cœur de l'algorithme (Core Update) sont à la fois plus larges et profondes. Elles permettent de réévaluer la qualité, la pertinence et la satisfaction des contenus affichés dans les résultats de recherche. Contrairement aux spam updates, ces mises à jour ne ciblent pas spécifiquement le spam.

Que faire en cas d'impact d'une Spam Update ?

Pendant la mise à jour : rien. Attendez la fin de la mise à jour avant de faire des analyses et d'identifier les pages ou rubriques touchées. Vous pouvez également réaliser un audit SEO afin de vous aider à corriger les problèmes.

Si vous êtes impacté par une SPAM Update, consultez les règles de Google en matière de spam afin de vous assurer que vous les respectez. Apporter des modifications peut aider votre site à s'améliorer si Google ne détecte plus de spam sur votre site. Néanmoins, dans le cas d'une mise à jour spécifique au spam de liens, apporter des modifications peut ne pas entraîner d'amélioration :

Un rapport de performance IA déjà existant, mais limité

Lancé plus tôt cette année, le rapport de performance IA de Bing Webmaster Tools répondait à une première question fondamentale : où mon contenu est-il cité dans les réponses générées par l'IA ? C'était un premier pas utile, mais insuffisant face à la complexité croissante des systèmes de réponses IA.

Ces systèmes ne fonctionnent pas comme un moteur de recherche classique. Ils synthétisent des informations issues de plusieurs sources à la fois, dans des contextes très variés. Un simple comptage de citations ne suffit donc plus pour comprendre sa visibilité réelle.

C'est pour répondre à ce besoin que Microsoft introduit aujourd'hui quatre nouvelles capacités, disponibles en preview mondiale. Des fonctionnalités présentés sur le Blog Microsoft Bing par Krishna Madhavan, Meenaz Merchant, Saral Nigam et Trishna Shah.

Intents : comprendre pourquoi le contenu est cité

La première nouveauté, Intents, classifie les requêtes de grounding (les requêtes qui fondent les réponses IA) en grandes catégories : Informational, Commercial, Navigational, Learn and Solve, Research, Creation, Local, et d'autres encore.

Pour rappel, le grounding désigne les sources et les données web que le système IA utilise pour appuyer et citer ses réponses. Jusqu'ici, les éditeurs voyaient quelles requêtes avaient déclenché une citation, sans comprendre dans quel type d'expérience IA leur contenu avait été mobilisé.

Avec Intents, un éditeur e-commerce pourra par exemple constater que son contenu est surtout cité dans des contextes de comparaison ou d'achat, tandis qu'un éditeur éducatif découvrira peut-être que ses articles sont majoritairement surfacés dans des interactions de type « recherche » ou « apprentissage ». Ces informations permettent d'affiner la structure et la profondeur des contenus en fonction des types d'expériences IA où ils apparaissent.

Topics : voir sa visibilité par thématiques, pas par mots-clés

La deuxième fonctionnalité, Topics, regroupe les requêtes de grounding en clusters thématiques plus larges. Là où un SEO traditionnel raisonne requête par requête, les systèmes IA, eux, raisonnent par concepts et thèmes.

Par exemple, des requêtes comme « panneaux solaires », « efficacité de l'énergie solaire » et « installation solaire résidentielle » pourraient toutes être regroupées sous un cluster thématique « Énergie solaire ». Les éditeurs obtiennent ainsi une vue d'ensemble des grandes thématiques qui génèrent de la visibilité IA pour leur site.

Cette approche est particulièrement utile pour les équipes éditoriales, qui pensent naturellement en termes de thèmes et de territoires éditoriaux plutôt qu'en mots-clés isolés. Topics permet d'identifier les zones d'autorité émergentes, de repérer des lacunes dans la couverture thématique, et de mieux comprendre comment les systèmes IA regroupent sémantiquement les contenus.

Microsoft précise que ces classifications reposent sur des systèmes d'IA/ML en évolution. Pendant la phase de preview, certains labels peuvent encore être assez larges, notamment pour les domaines très spécialisés. La précision est attendue en hausse au fil du temps.

Citation Share : mesurer sa part de présence dans l'écosystème IA

La troisième fonctionnalité apporte une dimension comparative. Citation Share calcule le pourcentage de citations attribuées à un site donné, par rapport à l'ensemble des citations affichées pour une même requête de grounding.

En clair : en plus de savoir si vous avez été cité, vous pouvez savoir quelle part de l'espace de citation vous avez occupée pour cette requête. Un site peut être cité régulièrement mais ne représenter qu'une infime fraction des sources mobilisées sur un sujet. Citation Share rend visible cette réalité.

Microsoft insiste sur le fait que cet indicateur est conçu comme une métrique d'observation, non comme un système de classement ou un score compétitif. Il n'expose pas les domaines concurrents, ne représente pas une part de trafic, et n'attribue pas de note de qualité au contenu. Son objectif est de permettre aux éditeurs d'identifier les zones où leur représentation dans les réponses IA est forte ou, au contraire, fragmentée entre de nombreuses sources.

Les patterns de citations peuvent évoluer pour de nombreuses raisons : changements dans les comportements utilisateurs, évolution des modèles IA, signaux de fraîcheur, cycles de mise à jour des partenaires, et mutations plus larges du web.

Compare : observer l'évolution des citations dans le temps

La quatrième fonctionnalité, Compare, permet de superposer une période précédente à la vue de reporting actuelle. L'objectif est de visualiser facilement comment l'activité de citation évolue, et de mettre en relation ces variations avec des mises à jour de contenu, des effets saisonniers, des changements de la demande, ou des évolutions plus larges de l'écosystème.

Les éditeurs peuvent par exemple comparer les 30 derniers jours avec les 30 jours précédents, ou définir des plages de dates personnalisées pour analyser des tendances plus longues.

Compare ne cherche pas à expliquer les causes des variations, mais à les rendre visibles de manière claire et directe, pour que les éditeurs puissent former leurs propres hypothèses et ajuster leur stratégie de contenu en conséquence.

Ce que ces outils changent concrètement pour les éditeurs

Pris ensemble, Intents, Topics, Citation Share et Compare marquent un changement d’approche dans la manière dont Microsoft outille les éditeurs face à l'IA. Plutôt que de réduire la visibilité IA à un score unique ou à un simple comptage, ces fonctionnalités proposent un ensemble de signaux complémentaires :

• Le contexte des citations,
• Leur organisation thématique,
• Leur poids relatif
• Leur évolution temporelle.

Pour les praticiens du GEO, ces données sont directement exploitables pour orienter les décisions éditoriales : sur quels sujets renforcer l'autorité, dans quels types de requêtes IA mieux se positionner, et comment suivre l'impact des ajustements de contenu dans la durée.

Ces quatre fonctionnalités sont disponibles dès aujourd'hui en preview mondiale dans Bing Webmaster Tools. Microsoft invite également les utilisateurs à partager leurs retours directement depuis l'interface du tableau de bord via une nouvelle fonctionnalité de feedback intégrée.
